Surveying my life in India and in America, I find a lot of cultural variants but also many cultural parallels. These cultural parallels seem to form points of connection between peoples lives globally. I am interested in creating a passage that would encompass these parallel cultures and a real moment of intersection, in space, that can be witnessed. In my way of exploring and studying cultures, I have come to a point of exploring Intersectionality. Incorporating light in my installations helps me give a dimension of real time to my art works. Glass as a medium stands an undeniable metaphor to the way most of us experience our lives, by its properties of refraction, distortion and magnification. The distortion through glass structures (in this case) helped me deliver my interest in Intersectionality.
